FDN Series High-Efficiency Water Reducer (Powder & Liquid)

This product is a Naphthalene-based superplasticizer that complies with the GB8076-2008 standard. It is available in three concentration specifications and two product forms. It is suitable for various concrete projects, providing excellent water reduction, enhancement, and durability. The dosage should be determined based on tests, and it should be stored and transported in accordance with the specifications.

Product Details

Ⅰ. Product Standards

Complies with GB 8076-2008 "Concrete Admixtures" standard. This series consists of Naphthalene-based superplasticizers, including three models:

  • FDN-A (High Concentration)

  • FDN-AⅠ (Medium Concentration)

  • FDN-AⅡ (Low Concentration)

. Application Scope

1. General Infrastructure: Suitable for precast and cast-in-place reinforced concrete in industrial and civil buildings, water conservancy, transportation, ports, and municipal engineering.

2. Strength & Flow: Ideal for high-strength, ultra-high-strength, and medium-strength concrete, as well as projects requiring early strength, moderate frost resistance, and high flowability.

3. Curing Process: Specifically suitable for precast concrete using steam-curing technology.

4. Raw Material: Applicable as the primary water-reducing and strengthening component (mother liquor) for various compound admixtures.

Ⅲ. Performance Characteristics & Technical Specifications

1. Appearance: Available in powder (brown-yellow) and liquid (brown-black) forms. Non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive, and physically stable.

2. Safety: Contains zero or negligible chlorine ions, ensuring no corrosion to reinforcement bars.

3. Workability: Provides powerful dispersion effects on cement, significantly increasing flowability. Concrete slump can reach 180mm–250mm, enhancing workability for easier pouring and vibration.

4. Efficiency & Strength:

  • Water Reduction Rate: 10%–30%, drastically reducing water consumption.

  • Strength Boost: Increases 1–3d strength by 20%–60%; 3–7d by 15%–50%; and 7–28d by 10%–40%.

  • Cement Saving: Saves 10%–25% of cement while maintaining constant strength.

5. Durability: Enhances impermeability, freeze-thaw resistance, and corrosion resistance. Reduces shrinkage and creep, effectively extending the service life of the concrete.

6. Compatibility: Excellent compatibility with other admixtures and high adaptability to various types of cement, ensuring a wide range of applications.

7. Surface Finish: Non-air-entraining; produces a smooth and aesthetically pleasing concrete surface with no significant impact on setting time.

8. Chemical Composition (Na_2SO_4 Content):

  • FDN-A (High Conc.): Na_2SO_4 < 5\%, Water content \le 8\%. Suitable for liquid anti-freeze agents in winter.

  • FDN-AⅠ (Med Conc.): Na_2SO_4 8%–12%, Water content \le 8\%.

  • FDN-AⅡ (Low Conc.): Na_2SO_4 15%–20%, Water content \le 10\%.

Ⅳ. Recommended Dosage

Powder: 0.35% – 1.5% (Optimal: 0.7% – 1.0%) of total cementitious material weight.

Liquid: 1.0% – 3.5% (Optimal: 1.5% – 2.5%) of total cementitious material weight.

Ⅴ. Instructions for Use

Testing: Dosage should be determined through trial mixes based on specific project requirements.

Addition Method: Generally added with the mixing water. For superior plasticizing effects, add later in the mixing process or just before pouring (with thorough stirring). Powder can also be added with the binder before mixing with water for the required duration.

Ⅵ. Packaging, Transportation & Storage

Packaging:

  • Powder: Double-layer packaging (inner plastic liner, outer woven bag), 25kg or 40kg net weight per bag.

  • Liquid: Available in drums or tanks. Logistics: Protect powder from bag breakage and moisture. Ensure liquid containers are sealed to prevent leakage.

Storage:

  • Powder: Store in a ventilated, dry, dedicated warehouse. Protect against clumping. If clumping occurs, it can be used after passing a 0.63mm sieve test or by formulating it into a solution of specific concentration.

  • Liquid: Store in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight. Shelf Life: One year. The product remains usable after the expiration date if it passes re-testing.
